The Black Knights of Achadon – Verse I

Verse I – The Black Knights

Come and listen all of you who beg to hear the tale of the

Black Knights of Achadon. They who ride on the winds of night

And march from the dark gates of Balur’s castle.

They are the cursed souls, vengeance risen;

Mighty is their hand and great is their power.

Their coming is a wondrous tale for all who listen.

Four knights there are;

One of violet flame, who whips the souls of the damned

One of dark water, as silent as the grave

One who wields a shield of flesh and a hammer of bone

And the lord of shadow, who rides a steed of starry night.

How these knights came to be is a tale of old.

That after the purge of Herandite, the men and women

Were cursed by the god king Lantanos, the Scepter of Light

and forced into the underworld, flayed into submission.

Their only hope of freedom was to be purified and saved

The very rape of their souls.

Oh, woe the people of Herandite, who suffer for all of eternity!

Their wails could be heard on the wind

after the sun had set and the moon became dark and new.

Upon their doom, the cursed souls prayed

to the enemy of Lantanos, the god king Balur, Trident of the Abyss.

“We call upon the blackened master of Achadon. We pledge our eternal

Souls unto him so that we may yet keep from the grasp of light.”

And so Balur cast his darkness down and claimed the souls,

And in return they would become his wrath. In Balur’s

Battle against the enemy, he would need an army.

Thus, it was he, Master Balur, who raised from the damned

the four most powerful wretched souls he could find.

These four, who swore unto him allegiance,

became the four black knights of Achadon,

Protectors of the Abyss, Heroes of the Damned, the Fists of Balur.

They who wield the power to command

the damned souls of their brethren in the afterlife.

Know their countenance and beware o’ servants of Lantanos!

None know their true names

Only Balur holds their identities,

Hidden beneath his tongue.

People of Achadon need not fear

Keep Lantanos from your heart

and rejoice when your saviors appear!

Pyra, Slaver of Souls

Lacrimitus, The Silencer

Gravidier, Flayer of Flesh

And Noal, the Lord of Shadows.

This is the tale of the Black Knights

And how they came to be named so. Let us rejoice

And pray that one day we may

Live without fear for the Golden Master yet breathes

And commands his army onward.

Hail the Blackened King of Achadon!

Hail the Cursed Knights of Balur

Hail to the Army of the Dead!
